Noche UFC hit with fight cancellation blow

A fight has been canceled one week ahead of the fourth annual Noche UFC event.

Noche UFC was first introduced to us in 2023, designed as a one-time love letter to the country of Mexico, featuring some of its most prominent fighters in the sport. Fast forward three years, and the company has continued that tradition. The event is showcased during the month of Mexican Independence each year to celebrate all that the nation has given to combat sports.

Often filled with rugged veterans and exciting prospects, Noche UFC is one that fans look forward to each year. However, in a disappointing turn of events, the card has lost one of the most anticipated matchups just a week out from fight night.

After earning his spot in the UFC with a devastating first-round knockout victory on the Contender Series, undefeated Mexican Ramiro Jimenez has had his fight next weekend scrapped. Peru’s own Rodrigo Vera, who has rightfully earned plaudits for his short-notice UFC debut win in May, was set to welcome Jimenez to the octagon. Attempts were made to remain on the card after Visa issues threatened to rule Vera out of the fight, but to no avail.

Jimenez was offered a short-notice change of opponent, which he declined, resulting in him being removed from Noche UFC.

Instead of going ahead with a 12-fight card, the UFC booked a replacement bout that will now serve as the Noche UFC opener.

Highly touted talent Jessie Rosas—the older brother of future star Raul Rosas Jr.—has been called up by the promotion following his three-fight win streak outside of the UFC. He will lock horns with Sean King, an undefeated featherweight who bypassed a scheduled October appearance on the Contender Series after being headhunted for a spot on the Noche UFC card.

Noche UFC will take place on Saturday, September 12, at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Alongside the new fight announcement, the card will be headlined by Jean Silva and Jose Delgado, with Mexican favorites Brandon Moreno and Alexa Grasso also on display.
