Jai Herbert has got everything to take out Matheus Camilo at UFC Vegas 122
Jai Herbert is confident his skillset will be too complete for Matheus Camilo at UFC Fight Night 290.
Herbert (14-6-1 MMA, 4-5-1 UFC) is coming off a thrilling first-round knockout win over Manel Nallo in April, setting the stage for Saturday's lightweight co-headliner against Camilo (11-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) at Meta APEX in Las Vegas (Paramount+).
The Brit is not one to take umbrage with his assigned matchups, and thinks this particular pairing with Camilo is one that favors him well.
"He's a young, up-and-coming lad," Herbert told MMA Junkie and other reporters at Wednesday's media day. "He's a good fighter. He can box, he can wrestle. It's going to be a good fight. I've got the experience, I've got the skills. I've got everything to go out there and get the win, so that's what I'm going to do."
It's been an up-and-down octagon run for Herbert. He has never won consecutive fights during his more than six-year UFC tenure, but now he has a chance again. The 38-year-old not only plans to get his hand raised, but also do so emphatically.
"I'm prepared for three rounds if need be," Herber said. 'But any time the opportunity arises, I'm looking for the finish."
