Tyson Fury thanks Dana White for pushing Anthony Joshua fight over the finish line

As they still sit at a standstill with negotiations, Tyson Fury has thanked Dana White for the work he has done to make one of the most significant all-British boxing matches get finalized.

While the fundamental contract to make the fight happen has been signed, the entire event featuring two of the UK’s most beloved fighters is at risk of falling apart. The pair have publicly announced their interest in the blockbuster matchup, but remain in an intense dispute over the location. Anthony Joshua‘s team are fighting hard to keep the fight on home turf, with London an ideal destination, while Fury and co. strongly prefer Madison Square Garden in New York City, hoping to capitalize on the American audience.

Tyson Fury’s preference is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season and UFC CEO Dana White. TKO Group, backed by White, has leveraged its muscle in the business to broker a global broadcasting deal with Netflix. The news has been met well by Fury, who turned to social media to thank White for the work he has done behind the scenes, saying:

“I’d just like to thank Dana White for making this fight happen. Making this deal happen with Netflix and getting it all over the line. You did an amazing job, mate. Even if Eddie [Hearn’s] a little jealous f***er and hasn’t got the guts to come out and say he had nothing to do with it, I’m a man and I can give another man respect for doing something great that Eddie and all his mates tried to do for years and could never do.”

“So, thank you very much, Dana. You’re an absolute legend. One of the best promoters in the world, in my opinion. And an all-round top guy. And I can’t wait to see you at the press conference, on a special invitation from ‘The Gypsy King,’ and yeah. I’d love to have a beer with you one of the days, brother.”
