Michael Page wants to have honest conversation after fighting out UFC contract

Michael Page hopes he can re-sign with the UFC after fighting out his contract vs. Nursulton Ruziboev.

Page (26-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) outpointed Ruziboev (38-9-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) for the unanimous decision win on Saturday's main card at Accor Arena in Paris. His performance drew boos from the crowd on a couple of instances, but "MVP" was able to fend off Ruziboev's wrestling and land the better shots on the feet.

Page has been baffled by the matchmaking as of late, but is looking to let the UFC know his vision.

"I sit down with the UFC, have a honest conversation," Page told UFC News. "I'm going to say, 'Look man, I know I could do better. I'm aspiring to do better. I'm up there. Give me better opponents, and have faith that I can go deliver something special for the crowd.'"

The 39-year-old says he feels great, as he continues to take no damage in his fights. He just has to figure out a way to take more chances so he can finally notch his first UFC finish – if he were to re-sign.

"The frustrating thing is I feel great, which sometimes means I haven't done enough – and the result shows I haven't done enough," Page said. "I probably need to push myself a little bit more, take a few more risks. Sometimes I just want it to be too clean, too precise. I know there's more and it's frustrating because when I get to the cage, sometimes I feel like I'm holding back, and I want to give more. The fans deserve more, the UFC deserves more, I know I can give more, and I feel like I'm almost there."
