Tony Ferguson calls for December fight after Misfits Boxing knockout win

Tony Ferguson has set his sights on a December return after improving to 3-0 under the Misfits Boxing banner.

A strange win but a win nonetheless, Ferguson secured a knockout victory when he collided with Mahmoud Sebie in Miami, Florida, on Saturday. After being clipped with some big shots, ‘El Cucuy’ rallied to land a devastating combination that gave the ref no choice but to step in. A third straight win with two stoppages, Ferguson has found his stride in the Misfits Boxing ring.

Wanting to keep active and test himself in the latter stages of his combat sports career, Tony Ferguson is seeking his next opponent. Despite being 42, Ferguson is on the gas and has his sights set on a three-month turnaround, should a viable opponent surface.

“I’ll fight anybody,” Ferguson said after his knockout win on Saturday. “Mams [Taylor] and I will go, and we’ll talk. We’ll make something happen. And I want to get another victory out this year. So, maybe in December, we’ll find that out.”

The spoils of war often come with injuries. The body goes through a lot behind the scenes just to make it to fight night. As we get older, damage becomes more common, and wear and tear takes its toll. But for Tony Ferguson, he truly is the boogeyman.

Coming out with the second-round knockout win, Ferguson didn’t sustain any serious injuries, making his December return date a real possibility.

“To be real, man, this sport is awesome. I wasn’t sure exactly how this was. I was nervous as sh*t. I was completely nervous… No injuries. Zero injuries. There’s some things I’ve got to fix. I mean, from head to toe, I know exactly what I want to f***ing do. So, I’m here. Misfits Boxing.”
