Dana White addresses absolutely dominant Payton Talbott not getting UFC 332 bonus
Dana White explained why Payton Talbott did not get a bonus for his UFC 332 win.
Talbott (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) ran through former champion Deiveson Figueiredo (25-8-1 MMA, 14-8-1 UFC) for a first-round TKO in Saturday's co-headliner at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
In his post-fight interview in the octagon, Talbott called for the bonus, but Joe Rogan admitted that with 11 finishes on the night, it could be hard. The $100K was awarded to Roman Kopylov, Imanol Rodriguez, Damian Pinas, and Johnny Walker, who like Talbott, all knocked out their opponents in Round 1.
"Obviously, Payton Talbott was a big one. He was like a huge favorite in the fight, though," White said during the UFC 332 post-fight news conference. "But he looked incredible, absolutely dominant, and it was awesome. Tonight was a big night for all these kids because the thing was on CBS. So when you get on network television, the goal is always to highlight your best talent and best up-and-coming talent, people you want the world to hear about, and that happened tonight."
Talbott called out former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley (20-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC), whom he previously claimed was in talks to fight him this past June at the White House. O'Malley denied those claims.
