Pereira Pouts Over UFC 334’s Gane Vs. Hokit Headliner

Alex Pereira doesn’t believe that Ciryl Gane’s heavyweight title fight with Josh Hokit should be headlining UFC 334 this November at Madison Square Garden, leaving “Poatan” left to promote the fight himself.
In case you missed it, Gane vs. Hokit was booked to main event UFC’s return to New York City on Nov. 14. This came after Tom Aspinall vacated his heavyweight title. The promotion eventually promoted Gane to undisputed champion and scheduled his first title defense against Hokit. Some believe the controversial Hokit didn’t deserve a shot at UFC gold, but that didn’t stop UFC officials from booking the heavyweight clash.
Pereira, who is expected to face heavyweight contender Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335 this December, was hoping to earn another shot at the heavyweight title after coming up short against Gane back at UFC’s White House last June. “Poatan” has been very vocal about Gane throwing illegal strikes to the back of the head to finish the fight so it’s safe to say he’s still sour about the loss. Pereira also has history with Hokit after getting pressed backstage by the trash-talking heavyweight earlier this year (see it HERE).
On Friday, Pereira took to social media to throw shade at the upcoming matchup between Gane and Hokit, suggesting that UFC should have made Kayla Harrison vs. Amanda Nunes the main event for UFC 334. Check it out below:
“Why the women’s fight is not the main event?” asked Pereira. “Okay let me help promote this cause no one is paying attention to it.”
