Brian Ortega shares graphic image of cut that forced him out of UFC 331

A nasty cut above his left eye has caused Brian Ortega to withdraw from his UFC 331 bout this weekend.

Becoming an unwanted occurrence for Ortega, he has been forced out of his scheduled bout on Saturday due to injury; the second time he has pulled out against Renato Moicano this year. This is the third time in two years he has been injured during training camp, stunting any chance he’s got at a title push late in his career.

Upset by the developments that led to his exclusion from UFC 331, Brian Ortega shared an update for fans, saying:

“This one hurts. I have to pull out of the fight because of the stitches in my eye. I’m on weight, I’ve been training my ass off, and this has honestly been one of the best camps I’ve ever had. I was really looking forward to fighting at home in Los Angeles in front of my family, friends, and everyone who’s been supporting me.”

Fans hoping to see Ortega compete won’t have to wait too long. Once his cut is healed, he’ll be back in the octagon.

’T-City’ revealed he’ll be getting right back to training and will likely make his next UFC appearance some time in November.

“My next fight is in soon, so I’m getting right back to training,” Ortega added. “We’ve brought some new people into camp and I’m excited to show you guys a new side of me. Thank you to everyone who’s been supporting me through all of this. I’ll see you guys in November.”
