Terence Crawford entertains Ryan Garcia fight talks

Ryan Garcia was successful with his bait, catching a bite from Terence Crawford.

‘King’ Ryan has been vocal about his future after his recent one-sided WBC welterweight title defense win. A rematch with Gervonta Davis at 147-pounds is high on his bucket list. Defending his throne against Teofimo Lopez on Cinco de Mayo weekend seems to be in the works. But perhaps the biggest of all is Garcia’s attempt at dragging undefeated superstar Terence Crawford out of retirement for a blockbuster clash.

A career-defining victory over Canelo Alvarez and his subsequent retirement portrayed Crawford as content with his career. An unstoppable 42-0. But recent comments on social media could be showing his itch to return.

“Ryan Garcia I like you I really do because you’re funny. Why you never called me out when I was an active fighter? And I’m old wouldn’t you say, what would you get outta fighting this old guy?”

Crawford left a legacy in the ring that is up there with some of the greats. But since retiring, there has been an unwarranted stigma on his name. Some believe he ducked fighters and retired at a specific time to avoid facing ‘Boots’ Ennis, forcing a response from Crawford.

“Certain fighters is kept away from other fighters because it’s a business,” Crawford continued. “Now me I was bad for business because I was coming to f*** up plans. There’s not one fighter that came across my table that I didn’t take. I called out and fought every top fighter in every division I was in.”

Once again signalling his intent on a potential return, Crawford went after Ryan Garcia, claiming it wouldn’t end well if the fight did happen.

“I’ll f*** Ryan Garcia up so bad people going to be calling the law on me talking about child abuse. Like why did you do that to that little boy you knew he was just talking for the entertainment. Here I am.”
