UFC 331 results: Casey ONeill pulls off incredible reversal directly into a submission to b

Casey O'Neill pulled off a submission move you have to see to believe on the early preliminary card for UFC 331 on Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles.

Her opponent, flyweight veteran Eduarda Moura, had been in control throughout the first round and held top mount.

O'Neill used her legs, placed them on Moura's hips, then extended them and flipped her over. All while doing this, she shifted her hips and locked in an armbar, causing Moura to tap almost instantly.

Moura controlled the fight for nearly the entire duration before O'Neill pulled off her reversal. O'Neill went for a low kick at the start of the fight, but Moura countered with a right jab that knocked her off balance, and Moura took her to the ground and locked up a choke attempt.

It looked like the fight was going to be over almost instantly, but O'Neill regained her composure and worked for the next few minutes, getting into a position to go for her flip reversal. After the fight, she told Joe Rogan that she had pulled off the move in practice before and just went for it. "To get it on the big stage like that, was awesome," she said.

Rogan said he had never seen anything like that before in the UFC.

The win pushes O'Neill to 12-2 in her career, while Moura's loss drops her to 12-3. This was only the second fight for O'Neill since her return from a 19-month layoff. After picking up a unanimous decision win at UFC 305 in August 2024, O'Neill suffered a severe knee injury that caused her to miss more than 19 months of action.

She returned this past March with a first-round knockout win over Gabriella Fernandez. This is just the third submission victory in her professional MMA career.

Saturday’s result marks back-to-back UFC losses for Moura. She was on the wrong side of a unanimous decision against Wang Cong in February. Her last win came in July 2025, when she bested Lauren Murphy by unanimous decision.
