Marlon Vera is back on track after a rough string of results.

At UFC 331, Vera (24-12-1 MMA, 16-11 UFC) picked up a much-needed win by stopping Charles Jourdain at 2:02 of Round 3. The bantamweight bout at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles served as the final prelim bout.

Vera's pressure remained steady throughout the first two rounds and eventually broke Jourdain in the final round.

The damage steadily accumulated as Vera excelled as the fight wore on, as usual. In a quick exchange, Vera landed a perfectly placed left hook that sent Jourdain stumbling backward and to the canvas. As Vera approached to capitalize, Jourdain waved off the fight himself to prevent any further damage.

With the win, Vera ends a four-fight skid. His last win was a unanimous decision win over Pedro Munhoz at UFC 292, which earned him a title shot against then-champion Sean O'Malley. He would come up short in his title chance, and then drop consecutive fights against Deiveson Figueiredo, Aiemann Zahabi, and David Martinez.

During his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Vera expressed relief at returning to the winner's circle, while explaining that he never abandoned his approach to hard work in the gym.
