Usman Nurmagomedov shares encouraging update about Umar Nurmagomedov following knockout loss

Usman Nurmagomedov has shared some positive words and has given an encouraging update regarding Umar Nurmagomedov‘s future.

At UFC Shanghai, on enemy territory, Umar was knocked out for the first time in his career. The always-dangerous Song Yadong, well-prepared to face the Dagestani prospect, caught his opponent on the way in and shut him down. The thrill and the agony of fighting. What turned out to be Yadong’s biggest win was Umar’s worst loss. But life goes on for Team Khabib, and they have a habit of bouncing back strong from poor or losing performances.

Knowing it’s a part of the game, Usman Nurmagomedov shared a powerful vote of confidence for his older brother, saying:

“It is what it is. We’ll keep moving forward, correct mistakes, and come back stronger,” Usman said. “Why should we [hide from the defeat]? He who doesn’t fall does not rise. So, it’s all good.”

“This is MMA. Of course, it’s unpleasant when it happens to your brother right in front of you. But we are in this sport; that’s the way it is. We put someone’s lights off, and someone puts our lights off. It’s uncomfortable. But we live with it [and] come back.”

Usman Nurmagomedov then shared a positive update. His brother, Umar, remains in good spirits and is working hard to put on a statement performance when he next steps into the UFC octagon.

“We will win our next fight and make a great statement. There’s nothing strange about it… What really matters is that we are alive and well. Life goes on.”
