Darren Till blasts company man Daniel Cormier for Usman Nurmagomedov defense

Known for his unfiltered public outbursts, Darren Till took aim at Daniel Cormier this week for the fighter-turned-commentator’s views following UFC Shanghai.

The UFC’s first 2026 foray into China didn’t disappoint, with 10 of the event’s 13 bouts ending via stoppage. Favorites dominated the night, living up to the hype placed on them ahead of their respective bouts. Despite predicted winners mostly coming out on top, UFC Shanghai delivered one of the biggest shocks of the year. Song Yadong, coming into his clash as the heavy betting underdog, knocked out Umar Nurmagomedov, handing the prodigy the second defeat of his career.

Immediately following the knockout, Umar’s brother, Usman Nurmagomedov, stormed the cage and almost got into a physical altercation with Yadong as the 28-year-old celebrated the most significant win of his career. Usman’s actions didn’t go down well with critics, but Daniel Cormier has sided with the former Bellator and PFL standout.

Cormier—a long-term teammate of Team Nurmagomedov at the American Kickboxing Academy—jumped to Usman’s defense. Cormier hit back at critics for their “conspiracy theories,” arguing that the undefeated Russian acted as expected and that he deserved “grace” for displaying the type of emotion he did after witnessing his brother being knocked unconscious.

Daniel Cormier is often criticised for his favoritism toward his friends and former training partners while on commentary. The latest to share their dislike for Cormier is fellow UFC veteran Darren Till, who had this to say on social media:

“Why is DC always on the defensive of the Nurmagomedovs?” Till said in a rant on X. “Baffles me? You, as a company man, should [see that] he shouldn’t have stormed the octagon like that.”

“The guy is celebrating his big knockout against a huge name. But somehow you have found a way to defend [Usman Nurmagomedov] you little potato head. Why why why? I am going to be honest: as much as I think you are one of the best fighters ever in the UFC, the way you are as a company man and the views are f***ing sh*t.”

“Stop commentating and go and be an ambassador for fat camp, you f***ing potato man. Constantly finding excuses for that side, you little potato.
