UFC 332 gets its main event, but the card remains underwhelming
One of the biggest questions in all of MMA was answered on Saturday afternoon. UFC 332 takes place on October 3rd at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. With less than four weeks till the event, a main event hadn’t been announced.
That changed on Saturday, as the broadcast team at UFC Fight Night Paris announced the main event and showed the full card. Headlining UFC 332 is the now-vacant women’s flyweight championship.

Natalia Silva and Wang Cong will make the final walks in Utah. The flyweight title is now vacant. Valentina Shevchenko was announced as injured and likely to miss up to a year while recovering.
Reports came out about a week ago claiming Shevchenko vs. Silva would headline this event. Just days later, Shevchenko’s injury was leaked as well. It wasn’t until today that the severity of the injury was revealed, though.
As far as main events for a numbered card go, this is an underwhelming announcement. There are no real superstars or household names on this card. This card has fun fights. However, on a numbered event, huge fights are expected, and that’s not what this card brings.
Silva vs. Cong is an intriguing fight stylistically. Both fighters thrive on their forward pressure and striking volume.
Silva should be the more active striker, while Cong’s technique and precision will be a huge factor for her. Even so, this will certainly be the least-viewed numbered event in the Paramount+ era.
The main event isn’t the entire problem. There’s not one other fight on the card that has serious implications at the top of a weight class.
With the UFC 332 main event and entire card now official, huge fights are in store for November and December.
What the top of UFC 334 should look like now
No real reports were made, but there were rumors flying around about Alex Pereira fighting Josh Hokit in the main event of UFC 332. That rumor has now been debunked, but that’s still the clear fight to make at heavyweight.
The belief is that heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall will defend his title against interim champion Ciryl Gane at UFC 334
If that’s the case, theres no better co-main event than the No. 1 contender fight in the same division. Hokit has been taunting Pereira for all of 2026, so much so that Pereira’s coach, Glover Teixeira, said that Hokit is who he wants as Pereira’s next opponent.
