UFC legend defends Francis Ngannou amid Dana White feud

Francis Ngannou and Dana White‘s public feud has intensified.

The disdain between the two parties was common knowledge, and both sides have had a patchy relationship for some time. White famously claimed that Ngannou was scared to fight amid the saga of him leaving the UFC, and more bad blood has continued to spill since. White recently revealed his true feelings toward the fighter, stating that he is one of the people he hates the most, alongside Oscar De La Hoya. Ngannou clapped back, posting his thoughts on social media, and the war of words shows no sign of slowing down.

Fans are divided on who they believe. Is Dana White valid for his comments about his former employee? Is Francis Ngannou telling the truth about his former boss? While many still disagree, a UFC legend has sided with the athlete.

Speaking with the media, Randy Couture insisted that Francis Ngannou was trying to help his fellow fighters. Instead of just signing a contract with the company and being locked into more years with the same outcome, Ngannou allegedly wanted more benefits for fighters. Couture recently shared Ngannou’s contract wishes.

“I think they came to terms financially on what they were going to pay Francis, but Francis tried to step up and speak for fighters,” Couture said. “[He] wanted a voice in how we’re regulated. And how we’re drug tested. And 401(k). And health insurance. And so many things that we as fighters lack right now.”

Couture continued:

“That’s why him and Dana have never gotten along, and why he ended up in the PFL, and fighting there. So, it’ll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.”
