Raoni Barcelos breaks silence after scary knockout loss

Raoni Barcelos has provided a positive update following the scary end to his fight at UFC Vegas 121.

The veteran Brazilian entered the Meta APEX on Saturday riding a five-fight win streak. He was coming up against the much younger Raul Rosas Jr., who is also hungry for success in the sport. The fight delivered. Both men went to war for over 20 minutes, leaving everything they had inside the octagon. Midway through the final round, Barcelos seemed to lose consciousness without much contact, leaving many fearing the worst. A positive update was shared regarding his health shortly after his loss. Those close to him assured fans that he was doing well and that their support was appreciated. Days went by without much better updates, until now.

Raoni Barcelos today addressed fans for the first time since the scary scenes at UFC Vegas 121. The 39-year-old thanked everyone for the love they showed him and promised more positive updates.

“Hey guys, I want to let you all know that I’m doing great, and as soon as I can, I’ll send you all a video!” Barcelos said in his first statement since UFC Vegas 121. “Thank you so much for everyone’s love and prayers!”

Barcelos and Rosas Jr. fought their hearts out in a closely contested headlining bout on Saturday. Aside from the frightening end to the affair, the bantamweights put on a show and proved why they were two of the most in-form fighters in their division.

The clash was rightfully named the fight of the night by the UFC brass. Speaking about his impressive display for the first time, Barcelos said:
