Josh Hokit mocks Gable Steveson following knockout loss

Josh Hokit has some advice for Gable Steveson.

Steveson entered the UFC with much hype. With Olympic gold medal credentials, many believed the wrestler would go on to have a career like his fellow Olympians who came before him. While it could still unfold positively for him, Steveson finds himself in a rough position. In just his second fight with the UFC, he was violently knocked out and won’t return to the octagon until next year, leaving his career at a standstill.

Happy to mock Gable Steveson while he’s down, Josh Hokit attacked his peer for believing his wrestling would be enough to compete inside the octagon.

“That boy Raple Sleepeson, we talking about that guy? That boy Raple Sleepeson, real quick,” Hokit said. “Sh*t, he must have watched my fights and been like, ‘This sh*t’s going to be easy.’ This sh*t ain’t sweet. This is a whole different game. He wants to talk about my wrestling and all that other sh*t. This ain’t wrestling, and he had to learn that the hard way.”

Hokit then called Steveson out for his alleged lack of true training, saying:

“I heard he’s not practising properly, and that’s due to Jon Jones. I heard he’s not even sparring and sh*t. What we doing, gang? This is a whole different sport. You gotta start from ground zero. It’s hard for people like that that had that success to start from the building blocks again. He had to learn the hard way. We’ll see what he’s made out of because adversity is here. This is where the mental toughness- and see if he’s truly about it. If he truly wants to be good in this game.”
