Dana White open for absolute stud Alexander Volkanovski vs. Justin Gaethje
ABU DHABI – Dana White heaped praise on UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski.
Volkanovski (29-4 MMA, 16-3 UFC) had one of his best-career performances when he fended off Movsar Evloev's (20-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) takedowns and finished him by Round 2 TKO at Saturday's UFC 333 main event at Etihad Arena.
The 38-year-old Volkanovski delivered on his prediction of finishing Evloev in wild fashion, which left the UFC CEO in awe.
"Incredible, I mean the guy is an absolute stud," White said of Volkanovski during the post-fight news conference. "Coming in and beating an undefeated, younger, and the guy is built like a – you know what I mean? Volkanovski is incredible. He was the aggressive fighter, he was the one really going after him and trying to finish, and this guy is f*cking built different."
Volkanovski mentioned his desire to get a third crack at the UFC lightweight title, and potentially having a double retirement fight against Justin Gaethje (28-5 MMA, 11-5 UFC).
"I think when you've accomplished what he has accomplished, there's not much we're going to say no to with him," White said. "So, we'll see how this whole thing plays out."
