All was quiet in the UFC Fight Night 291 main event until a massive knee knockout thundered throughout Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The crowd burst into pandemonium as home country headliner Mike Malott knocked out Joaquin Buckley with an all-time violent highlight Saturday at the 2:32 mark of Round 2.

Both men were patient in the opening round, and into the second as well. However, when Malott (15-2-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) threw a head kick midway through the round, his knee connected flush on Buckley's jaw.

Buckley (21-9 MMA, 11-7 UFC) was throwing a punch simultaneously, so his momentum sprung him forward on all four. Malott then finished him off with a big punch, leaving him out cold face down on the canvas.

Malott, 34, extends his winning streak to five and continues his ascent up the welterweight ladder. He currently serves as the Canadian torch bearer for MMA at the moment, though his teammate Jasmine Jasudavicius, who won in the co-main event, also is right there with him.

Buckley, 32, has lost three fights in the row. He entered Saturday's fight off back-to-back losses to Kamaru Usman and Sean Brady.
