Jasmine Jasudavicius Calls for Natalia Silva Title Fight After Upsetting Erin Blanchfield at UFC Edm
Jasmine Jasudavicius delivered a statement performance in front of her home crowd at UFC Edmonton, handing Erin Blanchfield a unanimous decision loss in the co-main event. The Canadian flyweight outgrappled one of the division’s top contenders to secure a major upset, with all three judges scoring the contest 29-28 in her favor.
Blanchfield came into the matchup with a reputation as one of the division’s most dangerous grapplers, but Jasudavicius had other plans. From the opening bell, the Canadian made it clear that she wasn’t going to let her opponent dictate the pace, repeatedly taking the fight to the ground and threatening submissions.
The two fighters initially traded punches, with Blanchfield looking to establish her jab while Jasudavicius searched for openings to counter. The Canadian eventually ducked a punch and secured the first takedown of the night, setting the tone for what would become a frustrating evening for Blanchfield.

Jasudavicius quickly took control on the ground, working her way to Blanchfield’s back and locking in a body triangle. She spent nearly three minutes hunting for a choke while Blanchfield focused on defending and trying to escape. Despite several close calls, the American managed to survive the opening round.
The second round followed a similar pattern. Blanchfield attempted an early takedown of her own, but Jasudavicius defended before the two exchanged clean strikes. The Canadian then changed levels, completed another takedown, and worked her way back to a dominant position after a lengthy scramble.
Once again, Jasudavicius threatened a rear-naked choke, spending much of the final two minutes trying to find the finish. Blanchfield showed tremendous defensive awareness to avoid being submitted, but she continued to struggle with the Canadian’s ability to dictate where the fight took place.
Blanchfield finally found some momentum in the third round. She came forward with greater urgency, landing strikes and forcing Jasudavicius to spend more time defending on the feet. However, the Canadian stayed composed and avoided taking any significant damage.
With less than 90 seconds remaining, Jasudavicius went back to what had worked so well throughout the fight. She secured another takedown, brought Blanchfield to the canvas, and controlled the remaining time to put herself in a strong position to earn the decision.
When the scorecards were announced, Jasudavicius had her hand raised in front of the Canadian crowd. The victory improved her record to 7-1 across her past eight UFC appearances, with her only loss during that stretch coming against Manon Fiorot, who knocked her out in October 2025.
Jasmine Jasudavicius Calls for Natalia Silva Rematch After UFC Edmonton Win
With Natalia Silva recently capturing the vacant women’s flyweight title at UFC 332, Jasudavicius used her biggest win in some time to put herself into the conversation for a future matchup with the champion.
During her post-fight interview, the Canadian reflected on the experience of competing at home and hearing the crowd behind her. She said, “To be able to fight in Canada, you hear the crowd, man. We’re about it.”
Jasudavicius then made her intentions clear, calling for a rematch with Silva after their previous encounter. She added, “I want to cross paths with Natalia Silva again. We had a little bit of history before, so it would be an epic story.”

The callout makes sense given their history. Silva defeated Jasudavicius by decision in 2022, during the Canadian’s second UFC appearance. A rematch would give Jasudavicius the chance to avenge that defeat while potentially putting herself in the mix for a title opportunity.
Of course, the road to Silva could still involve other familiar names. Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko could also be ahead of Jasudavicius in the title picture. Still, her dominant grappling performance against Blanchfield has given her a compelling argument for a major fight next.
Whether the UFC grants her a rematch with Silva remains to be seen, but Jasudavicius made the most of her homecoming and ensured that the flyweight division will have to pay attention to her next move.
