UFC Fight Night 292 has a new co-main event.

On Oct. 31, Randy Brown will now face Jacobe Smith in a welterweight bout at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Brown (20-8 MMA, 14-8 UFC) was originally scheduled to face Carlos Leal, who had to withdraw due to injury. Smith (13-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) has stepped up as a short-notice replacement. The news was first reported by Heavy.com, and has since been confirmed by both fighters on social media.

The fight will be the second of the year for Brown, who will look to get back on track after dropping two straight. After a second-round stoppage of Nicolas Dalby last April, "Rudeboy" has since lost back-to-back fights agaisnt Gabriel Bonfim and Kevin Holland.

Smith puts his undefeated record on the line in a step-up in competition on short notice, just days after a first-round finish of Bruce Whitehead at UFC 332 earlier this month. Smith has won all four of his UFC bouts by stoppage; three in the first round and one in the second.
