UFC 333 fight will go ahead despite 4.5 pound weight miss

Iasmin Lucindo will still fight Nicolle Caliari in the first fight of the night at UFC 333, despite Caliari missing weight by a whopping 4.5 pounds.
Caliari stepped on the scales in Abu Dhabi at 120.5 pounds, which isn’t even close to the 116 pound limit for women’s strawweight. Lucindo (and the other 17 fighters on the card) made weight without a problem. See the full UFC 333 weigh-in results here.
While a weight miss that big could result in a fight cancellation, the bout will go ahead as a catchweight and Caliari will forfeit 30% of her purse to Lucindo.
We’re not too surprised that Lucindo agreed to go ahead with the fight. She’s coming off a nine month suspension due to a drug test failure for mesterolone, with Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) determining the cause was consistent with unintentional contamination of supplements. She didn’t sit out for nearly a year and then fly all the way from Brazil to Abu Dhabi not to compete.
Lucindo is 18-6 in MMA and 5-2 with UFC with her sole loss in six fights a decision loss to Amanda Lemos back in 2025. Caliari is 9-4 in MMA and 1-2 in UFC with her sole victory being a submission win over Shauna Bannon back in May. This is her first recorded incident of missed weight.
UFC 333 goes down from Abu Dhabi this Saturday October 23rd with the early prelims kicking off at 10 a.m. EST / 7 a.m. PT. So you’ll have to tune in early if you want to see how Lucindo vs. Caliari goes following this big weight miss.
