Lone'er Kavanagh continues to inject energy into an already exciting UFC flyweight division.

At UFC 333, Kavanagh (11-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) put away Ramazan Temirov (20-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC) with a brilliant punching combination that ended their flyweight main card bout at 4:28 of Round 1. The event took place Saturday at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi and streamed on Paramount+.

Despite the bout's brevity, both battlers had their moments. Temirov threw seemingly everything he had into each punch, though his precision was not up to par with Kavanagh's. Aggression was constantly sent his way, but Kavanagh evaded long enough to land a slick left uppercut. Temirov staggered backward as Kavanagh swarmed. A few shots later, referee Mike Beltran intervened.

Kavanagh, 27, moves to 2-1 in his most recent three since elevating to the upper echelon of the flyweight division. Following an upset win over Brandon Moreno, Kavanagh lost a Fight of the Year candidate to Brandon Royval prior to Saturday's fight.

Temirov, 29, had a 12-fight winning streak snapped. He entered UFC 333 off a big knockout victory of Steve Erceg.
