A certified banger is headed “Down Under.”

No. 6-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight contender, Quillan Salkilld, will collide with French action fighter, Benoit Saint-Denis, in the five-round main event of UFC Sydney, which is set for Sat., Feb. 6, 2027, inside Afterpay Arena in Sydney, Australia.

UFC officially announced the 155-pound showdown today on social media.

Salkilld (13-1) is a perfect 6-0 inside the Octagon, with five of those victories coming via first-round finish.

The 26-year-old Australian is coming off his first UFC main event, in which he strangled Mateusz Gamrot in the opening round (watch highlights).

Following that victory, Salkilld called for a showdown against Saint-Denis at Madison Square Garden. He did not get the fight inside “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” but he still got his wish—and now he will face “The God of War” on home soil.

Saint-Denis (17-4), meanwhile, will attempt to rebound from a devastating loss that ended his four-fight winning streak. The French bruiser was put to sleep by Paddy Pimblett in only 52 seconds at UFC 329 earlier this year (watch highlights).

Before that setback, Saint-Denis had torn through the Lightweight division, stopping Dan Hooker, knocking out Beneil Dariush in just 17 seconds (watch highlights), handing Mauricio Ruffy his first UFC loss (watch highlights) and submitting Kyle Prepolec.

No other fights have been announced for UFC Sydney at this time.

The event will mark UFC’s first Fight Night in Sydney since Fabricio Werdum defeated Marcin Tybura in November 2017. The promotion’s three most recent visits to the city have all been numbered events.

Salkilld has already established himself as one of Australia’s brightest title contenders. A victory over a proven Lightweight wrecking ball such as Saint-Denis could push him within touching distance of a championship opportunity.

Of course, getting through the French madman is rarely easy.
