Quillan Salkilld faces Benoit Saint Denis in main event of UFC Sydney

Quillan Salkilld will headline his first event in his home country.

On Tuesday, the UFC announced that Salkilld faces fellow top-10-ranked lightweight Benoit Saint Denis in the main event of UFC Sydney, which takes place at the Afterpay Arena in Sydney, Australia, on Feb. 6.

No other bouts have been announced for the event thus far.

A graduate of Contender Series in 2024, Salkilld (13-1) has surged up the lightweight ranks in his brief tenure with the UFC, currently holding the No. 7 ranking in the lightweight division. Salkilld is undefeated in six UFC bouts, with five stoppage wins and five Performance of the Night bonuses. Most recently, he submitted Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Vegas 120 in August.

A UFC fighter since 2021, Saint Denis (17-4, 1 NC) has been on the cusp of title contention a couple of times in the UFC, but fallen short at inopportune moments. Sporting a 9-4 record in the promotion, Saint Denis most recently lost to Paddy Pimblett via submission at UFC 329 in July.
