Loneer Kavanagh plans to do whats never been done before at UFC 333
ABU DHABI – Ramazan Temirov never has been knocked out in a professional MMA fight, but Lone'er Kavanagh is confident he can change that.
Kavanagh (10-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) sees himself pulling off the knockout win against Temirov (20-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC). The two flyweight contenders meet on the main card of Saturday's UFC 333 (Paramount+) at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The knockout might seem like a tall task, but that's what Kavanagh envisions for the fight.
"I'm going to go with a knockout in favor of me," Kavanagh told MMA Junkie Radio.
Kavanagh expects the fight with Temirov to be a barn-burner. He thinks their styles set up one of the best fights of the night, at least on paper.
"I feel like this is going to be an exciting fight from start to finish," Kavanagh said. "He likes to come forward; he likes to throw big shots. I like to throw big shots, so I feel like it's going to be an entertaining fight from start to finish. I feel like I'm always looking for a finish."
Kavanagh is coming off submission loss to Brandon Royval in July. Some might be underestimating him given his recent form, but he assures he's made the right adjustments to get back in the win column.
"I believe I have an amazing team, and every fight I'm looking to improve and to show that in my next fight," Kavanagh said. "I believe as long as I stay focused and switched on and do my own thing, I feel like I can take the fight anywhere."
